Electricity distributed by Iberdrola in the first half of 2025 exceeded 124,201 GWh, an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period in 2024. The strongest growth occurred in the United Kingdom, where distributed electricity rose by over 30%, surpassing 20,000 GWh.
This increase was driven by the integration of British distribution company ENW. In Spain, distributed electricity rose by 2.5% to 44,871 GWh.
Iberdrola’s electricity generation reached 66,300 GWh during the first half of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%. Growth was led by Iberdrola Energía Internacional, where output rose by 15.7% due to a 68% increase in offshore wind generation in France and Germany. Generation in Brazil grew by 11.7%, largely due to higher hydroelectric output. In Spain, production increased by 6.4%, with rises in solar, nuclear and combined cycle generation.
Offshore wind output improved by 42% in the second quarter. Solar and onshore wind also performed strongly, increasing by 57.4% over the past three months. This growth has been supported by investment in new capacity, which reached 57,273 MW following the commissioning of 1,800 MW. Iberdrola’s global renewable capacity now exceeds 45,000 MW for the first time, reaching 45,082 MW – approximately 79% of total installed capacity.
