Luz Elena González Escobar, Mexico’s energy minister, has confirmed the approval of five wind energy projects with a combined capacity of 894 MW. In addition, 15 solar projects have been approved, representing a total capacity of 2,471 MW.
Based on the current timeline, around 19% of the newly approved projects are expected to become operational in 2027. A further 78% is scheduled for 2028, while the remaining 3% is planned for completion in 2029.
