RWE has commenced construction of the 62.7MW Golticlay Onshore Wind Farm, located around five kilometres northwest of Lybster in Caithness, Scotland.
The wind farm will consist of 11 Nordex Delta4000 N149/5.7 turbines, each with a tip height of 180 metres and a rated capacity of 5.7MW. When fully operational, expected by the end of 2026, the site is projected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 84,000 Scottish homes each year. RWE has awarded two key contracts for the project. Farrans will carry out the civil engineering works, while Nordex will manufacture and deliver the turbines through the nearby port of Wick.
